CONCERTS IN CHURCHES AND SYNAGOGUES Since 2002, a key component of The Mendelssohn Project has been its performances in religious institutions. TMP has given concerts with world premieres, USA premieres, and known works in churches and cathedrals. The union of religion and music has been inseparable over many centuries, and for the music of both Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn there is no exception. Their wondrous sacred music is ideally suited for the vaulted beauty of a church. There has been one notable aspect missing, however. To this point, The Mendelssohn Project has yet to give a concert in a synagogue. This is an omission which TMP plans to rectify very shortly.
